Pupils fly the flag for eco work
A GWENDRAETH Valley school is celebrating beacon status in the Welsh Eco-Schools programme.
Staff and pupils from Mynyddygarreg Primary School raised a Green Flag onto a 15ft pole, which was donated by the Charles Church housing development in Kidwelly.

The Eco-Schools programme encourages pupils to engage on a variety of environmental and sustainable issues, including litter, waste minimisation, transport, healthy living and energy.
Head teacher Llinos Jones said: "We're absolutely thrilled to have achieved Eco-Status — both staff and pupils have worked so hard to raise awareness about lots of green issues.
"We completed a number of different tasks and projects as part of this scheme, including a council litter pick and raising awareness about fair trade products, which the children really enjoyed.
"I'd like to thank everybody who has been involved in our work, along with Charles Church, for their continued encouragement and support."
Charles Church head of sales for West Wales, Gerry Fox, added: "We're delighted to be supporting Mynyddygarreg Primary School and their environmental work."
