Pupils' burning ambitions
PUPILS at Llandovery's Ysgol Pantycelyn became firefighters for the day with Carmarthenshire Fire Service. The years 8 and 9 pupils learnt about the duties of firefighters and how to run hoses, put up and climb ladders and search and rescue.
School-based youth worker Ann Slater said that over the course of the day the youngsters were given a clear message about fire and road safety.

"It was a wonderful opportunity to gain new skills and find out about a very rewarding career as a firefighter," she added.
