PREPARING meals yourself from fresh fruit and vegetables is the best way for peace of mind for consumers.

The advice from Public Health Wales follows a Welsh health survey from 2011 which suggests only 33 per cent of adults in the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board area are eating their recommended guideline amount of five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.

Healthy

It also indicated 59 per cent of adults in the region were overweight or obese.

"Buying from local producers helps the local economy and gives consumers added peace of mind."
