He moved from his country of birth at the age of 15 to join Belgian club Vise, where he remained for one season.

In 2004 Lamah penned a deal with Anderlecht. The winger, who is left-footed but can play on either flank, then enjoyed a loan spell at Roda JC in the Dutch top flight between 2007 and 2008.

During this time he scored 11 goals in 32 league appearances, and his form helped Roda to ninth in the Eredivisie.

Lamah moved to French second-tier side Le Mans in 2008, and remained with the club until 2011. During this time he played 92 times, scoring 10 goals.

According to the official Swansea City website: “Lamah impressed in his two years in Ligue 1 before La Liga came calling and a £1.25million move to Osasuna materialised in August 2011.

“He was a prominent figure as he helped his new club finish ninth – just a point off qualifying for the Europa League play-off stages.

“This season he made 15 appearances, scoring twice, with Los Rojillos struggling at the bottom of Primera Liga.”

The youngster, who has represented Belgium at Under-19; Under-20; Under-21 and Senior level, securing five senior caps, joins City from the Spanish side.

Swansea will be the seventh club Lamah has played for since he turned professional in 2003.

According to ESPN his current contract, which runs until June 2014, reportedly contains a €7m release clause.

He hopes to become the latest Belgian to shine in the Premier League. “Hopefully I can follow the likes of Hazard and Kompany,” he said.

“Lets hope he does really well, i'm sure he can cross the ball as well. Unlike some others!”
