A PRIVATE clinic that is offering a single jab against measles in Llanelli has been cancelled after failing to be awarded a licence.

Desumo chiefs are instead offering to take 50 youngsters to a Worcestershire clinic by coach.

The company behind the clinic say they want to offer mums and dads a choice, although MMR is said to be the best protection by health chiefs.

Debbie Ryding, from Desumo, said: "We wouldn't exist if there wasn't a demand for it."

Measles cases in Swansea alone have doubled from 17 to 34, while in Neath Port Talbot there are now 24 confirmed cases, a jump from 15.

And in Carmarthenshire, the number of cases has risen to 68.

“I totally agree with Anon, Neath.

Why on earth would so-called loving parents put their children through THREE lots of jabs when ONE would protect them?

There is absolutely NO evidence that the triple MMR causes autism - that has been proved time and time again.

For goodness sake, get your kids vaccinated for the sake of their health and the health of other children who might be unlucky enough to be in contact with them.

No up-to-date vaccinations should mean no school place for your child.

Read up on the facts of the MMR vaccination rather than the scare-mongering rantings of a man who has been slated and disproved about his "theory" time and time again.”

“As the parent of a 1 year old who is due his jabs now, It annoys me to be told that he can't have them until mid July because of the sudden rush by the people who refused to take their children for their jabs at the correct time. All our children were vaccinated at the right time and now we are potentially having our baby's health put at risk because of people who thought measles might be a risk worth taking against the tenuous link with autism. We did think about not vaccinating, but concluded that the risk wasn't worth taking. It seems if the media say panic and scream loudly, people ask how loud do we scream instead of why???!!!”

“The parents of the children not given the MMR should be held accountable for the outbreak. It is the vulnerable babies who are too young to have the jab that are affected worse. If these parents used a bit a common sense this wouldn't happen. I also think the doctor that came out and said the MMR wasn't safe should be held responsible. Don't these parents realise that his research was dismissed as rubbish. There is NO evidence that the MMR is dangerous.

Get your kids vaccinated on the NHS for everyones sake.

Then again, if these parents want to pay, more fool them, saves the NHS money. Just idiotic”

“Desumo, Didn't they jump on the bandwagon a few years ago and criticise the use of the MMR injections (which has resulted in this current outbreak) and promoted the single jabs charging parents completely over the top prices.
Looks like they are after a second bite of the cherry.”

“Would Desumo like to take my son for his Jab, we've had the others but couldn't get down to the worcester clinic, we've paid already. I must say Desumo was wonderful....”
