Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting their first child, it was announced today.

A statement issued today said: "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."

A spokesman said The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with very acute morning sickness, Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

"As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."

“A priviliged couple who receive millions every year from the british taxpayer so that they can live a life of luxury are to become parents........

in other news, millions of british pensioners to choose between eating and keeping warm this winter, NHS is at breaking point say bosses, millions of ordinary families struggling on the breadline as the recession bites, unemployment spirals out of control as thousands lose their jobs, gas and electricity prices to soar far beyond the rate of inflation, benefits to be slashed for the disabled as remploy factories close, motorists being forced off the road as petrol prices to rise again, record number of families relying on foodbanks to feed their loved ones this christmas, etc etc etc etc etc etc”

“susiqzz, I do apologise..,. but I mock her privilege - not the symptoms. I am extremely aware that pregnancy can be a very difficult time for many women (not least the sense of alone-someness and the PND afterwards).

However,As a royal, She doesn't have any sympathy from me”

“I'm not a big fan of the royal family, even taking into account that my wife is distantly related to them. Her 29th great grandfather was William the conquer. Not that's really special he has over 10 million living descendant's including an estimated 2 million in the USA. That aside best of luck to them they seem a nice pair, i don't even mind prince harry anymore.”

“She has my utmost sympathy. Having been on the wrong end of morning sickness severe enough to require hospitalisation I can assure you it's no joke Gengis. Can I presume it's never happened to you? ...you're not male are you, by any chance?”

“All very predictable; this is par for the course when the economic outlook is catastrophic, another arrival to celebrate and cheer us all up. If this were an ordinary family it would be a cause for celebration but as the other correspondents have pointed out its nothing of the kind, just another useless "Windsor" to keep.”

“Oh Joy! Another Royal Parasite for the country to keep. Don't suppose the chancellor will do anything about the "benefits" the Royal Family are getting though, will he? Time we consigned to history the anachronistic & in-bred bunch, collectively known as the Royal Family.”
