Prices roll back the years
FORMER British Isles Pairs champions John and Harry Price rolled back the years to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Men's Pairs at the Swansea Bowls Festival.
They enjoyed a convincing 18-8 victory over Alan Givelin and Richie Thomas.
There was also a comfortable win for last year's champion Mark Jones, partnered by Simon Davies, as they defeated Peter Gray and Kenny Davies 18-9.
The closest match in the fourth round saw John Driscoll and Edward Johnson win through when an extra end was required before they got the better of Ian Mellor and Luke Haddon.
Former champions Lyndon Havard and Steve Norwood looked on course for a good win against three-time festival singles winner Steve Thomas and Owen Thomas when they led 13-6.
But the latter hit back strongly late on, only to see Havard and Norwood edge through by a couple of shots.
There was no double celebration for the Norwood family as son Ian and Jonathan Williams conceded 21 shots without reply to see a 7-2 lead after four ends turn into a 23-7 defeat against Clive Taylor and Robert Kent.
