Port Talbot boss Scott Young rues more missed chances
PORT Talbot boss Scott Young was left to bemoan his side's struggles at both ends of the field following a 2-0 home defeat to Bala Town in the Welsh Premier League.
The loss leaves the Steelmen in 11th spot in the league table, joining neighbours Afan Lido in the relegation danger zone.
"We had a lot of possession and we created a lot of half-chances, but we definitely need to be more ruthless at both ends of the pitch, our 18-yard box and theirs," said Young.
"Our form is worrying with the players and strikeforce we've got, but we need to start finishing these half-chances off and scoring goals again.
"The important thing for us at the moment is to get the first goal. When we get the first goal we don't lose games and over the last 12 months or so, if we score first, we don't lose.
"But the most disappointing aspect of our play was that we conceded two goals off our own set-plays and it's the little things like this which are causing us big problems."
