1932: Hendy Pool was built by volunteer miners.

1933: Hendy Pool was officially opened by unemployed miners.

1983: The pool served the community until its 50th anniversary, in 1983 it was donated to the council who modernised it

1998: Threatened with closer from the county council a campaign was led by villagers.

1999: The Hendy Pool committee formed.

2001: The pool started leaking when the wall of pool formed a crack

2002 late summer: During the winter of 2001/2002 the leak in the wall became a major crack which forced the county to close the pool because of the structural failure.

2004: The campaign to save the pool was stepped up when two public meetings in November 2004 and February 2005, attracted more than 200 villagers.

2005 Feb: New pool committee formed to look at ways to save the pool.

2006: With a petition of 2,800 names presented to the county council to save the pool and a fund-raising event in the Red Lion raising £5,000, the county council eventually agreed for a feasibility study to be carried out in 2007.

2006 Mar: A lido conference was held in London with lidos from across the UK attending, Hendy's delegate was MP Nia Griffith.

2006 June: Hendy school entered a float in the carnival and the committee had a stall collecting signatures for the petition.

2006 Aug: Simply Red tribute held a fund-raising concert for the pool at the Red Lion which raised £5,000.

2006 Nov: Residents were asking what was the £5,000 raised earlier in the year going to be spent on. Seven members of the pool committee launched a newsletter which they decided to call "Both Sides of the Bridge", to advise the community about the Hendy pool campaign and other community news.

2006 Dec: CAVS award a grant to develop web page.

2007: County council awarded a grant of £9,500 to fund a feasibility study.

2008: Feasibility Study by Hyder Consultants is ongoing.

2008 Feb: Assembly minister Leighton Andrews and AM Alun Davies came to Hendy to meet the Wales Scouting Movement who have been involved in the feasibility study

2008 Feb: The web page is finally launched
