Pontyberem 20,000 square metre grass fire beaten out
A FIRE spread across grassland close to the size of three rugby pitches.
The flames torched 20,000 square metres of land at a farm off Llannon Road, Pontyberem. Firefighters were called to the scene at 6.10pm last Wednesday. A Mid and West Wales Fire Service spokesman said: "A crew from Tumble put it out using beaters."
