Ponty claim derby spoils
PONTARDAWE Town won the Swansea derby in the MacWhirter Welsh League as they secured a 3-0 win at West End.
It has been a poor start to the season for West End, who have lost a number of players since winning the division one title at the end of last term.
And Ponty took full advantage to record their first win of the campaign.
Youth product Liam Griffiths put them ahead with a header in the 13th minute, with former Garden Village man Jordan Prosser making it two before the break.
Sam Handy completed the scoring when he fired home a superb 25-yard volley in the closing minutes.
Ponty face a tough test when they visit Haverfordwest on Wednesday.
In division two, Briton Ferry Llansawel claimed a 1-1 draw at Caldicot Town.
But Ammanford went down 2-0 at Penrhiwceiber Rangers.
