Ponthenri school celebrates big 100
PUPILS at a Gwendraeth Valley school are putting on a special concert this week to celebrate their centenary year.
Ponthenri youngsters have donned period costumes from throughout the decades to re-enact historic occasions.

The script of the play references significant events from the past which have made a mark in the school's history, including a helicopter crash on its grounds in 1989.
The show comes after an open day was held to celebrate the event in January.

Past pupils explored a gallery of photos from their school days, while current pupils sang songs to entertain guests.
The oldest living pupils, Wyn Emmanuel and Ronald Jones — both aged 88 — were also on hand to cut a celebratory cake.
Performances of the show will take place tomorrow and Friday at Ponthenri Village Hall, starting at 6pm.
