Police name victim in fatal fall at multi-storey car park in Llanelli

POLICE have now named a woman who died after apparently falling from Llanelli's multi-storey car park.

They revealed she was 41-year-old Sarah Ann Holmes.

Her body was discovered near the town's multi-storey in Murray Street on Monday at around 1.45pm.

It is believed she was a mum of one, who was originally from Kent but was living in the Ammanford area.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: "Police have confirmed the name of the 41-year-old woman who died on Monday.

"The body of Sarah Ann Holmes, who was a local woman, was found near the multi-storey car park in Llanelli at around 1.45pm.

"An inquest into the death has been opened and adjourned."

Shoppers in the town were left stunned following the tragic incident.

Councillor Carl Lucas, leader of Llanelli Town Council, led the tributes.

He said: "This was a tragic incident and on behalf of the Town Council I would like to pass our condolences on to the lady's family."

Ms Holmes had in the past attended Links in Queen Victoria Road, which aims to help support people with mental health problems and help to build their confidence and self-esteem through different activities.

Susie Hamill, of Links, extended the organisation's sympathies to Sarah's family.

She said: "The directors, trustees, staff and members at Links were saddened to hear of the news, although she hadn't attended for quite a while she will be missed.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and those who loved her at this time."

Councillor John Jenkins previously called on the town to rally around after the family following the sad incident.

"I am sure everyone in Llanelli will be united in grief and I hope the family of the woman get the help and support they deserve at this difficult time," he added.
