Police swoop on cannabis farm in disused office
POLICE have found a cannabis plantation in a disused office — after a visit by the gas man.
Officers recovered around 50 plants, along with lights and other equipment, from a property in Walter Road, Swansea, yesterday.
An investigation has now been launched to try to find the people behind the plantation.
Officers were altered to the presence of the cannabis plants after a debt officer working for British Gas gained entry to the property.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “Police are investigating the discovery of a small cannabis plantation at a property in Walter Road, Swansea.
“Officers seized approximately 50 plants and a quantity of equipment used in their cultivation.
“No persons have yet been arrested and officers are appealing for anyone who has seen any unusual movements at the property to come forward.”
Police swooped on the address — 101 Walter Road — at around 11am.
It is understood they found plants growing in three rooms in the terraced property.
