Police investigate after cigarettes reported stolen from Felinfoel Co-operative store in Llanelli

A Llanelli shopworker was left “shaken” after a man stole cigarettes from behind a supermarket counter.

Police are investigating after the incident at the Co-operative Food store in Felinfoel on Friday just before 10am.

A spokeswoman said: “The theft of a quantity of cigarettes was reported at 10.05am, Friday, March 15.

“Officers have conducted a search of the area and inquiries are continuing.”

And a spokeswoman for the Co-op said: “On Friday at around 9.45am, a man entered our store in Felinfoel and stole a large quantity of cigarettes from the kiosk.

“Although shaken by the incident, the kiosk operator was not harmed, and the store was able to trade as normal following the theft.

“CCTV has been given to the police and we would appeal for anyone with information to come forward.”
