Police given more time to question men over robberies and burglary in Whitland and Kilgetty
POLICE have been given extra time to question two men arrested following a pair of robberies and a burglary all apparently targeting elderly victims.
The alleged incidents happened on Thursday evening in Whitland and Kilgetty.
Dyfed-Powys Police said that in one of the alleged incidents, the victim suffered minor injuries.
Two men — a 22-year-old and a 20-year-old — were arrested on suspicion of dwelling burglary and robbery, and last night magistrates gave officers a further 36 hours to question them.
A police spokesman said: “Thankfully incidents such as these are very uncommon in the Dyfed-Powys area — but if they do occur the police take them extremely seriously and investigate thoroughly to bring any offenders to justice.
“We are providing the victims with support.”
