Police bag speeding driver and cannabis dealer
POLICE who stopped a speeding driver also discovered a cannabis dealer with his stash.
Christian Thomas, aged 20, of Beacons View Road, Clase, was a passenger in the car being driven in Brynhyfryd which was pulled over on February 23.
Officers saw him fiddling with a bag under the seat and searched the car, finding 17 bags of cannabis, all split into deals.
As well as the drugs, worth around £160, they also found £285 in cash.
When officers searched his home they found further evidence of dealing including weighing scales and empty bags.
He had been before magistrates just ten days before and was fined for producing cannabis, Swansea Crown Court was told.
Thomas, who admitted possession with intent, said he was dealing the drug because he himself was addicted but also because he did not have a job and wanted to make money.
Recorder David Miller sentenced him to eight months in a Young Offenders’ Institute.
