Police arrest 27yo man over "suspicious incidents" involving women

POLICE investigating a number of incident where a teenage girl and three women were approached in the street have made an arrest.

A 27 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted abduction following the incidents in Penarth and Barry.

Police say the arrest came following a call from a member of the public.

Police launched a manhunt after a number of "suspicion incidents" on January 6 and 7.

The first occurred just before 12.30pm on Sunday,  January 6, when a 14-year-old girl was approached on Rectory Road in Penarth.The next day, at around 9.15am, a 25-year-old woman was approached on Redlands Road in Penarth, then a 21-year-old woman was approached at 7.30pm on Winston Road in Barry, and finally a 22-year-old woman was approached on Fern Drive in Barry at around 9.15pm.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Police in Barry investigating a number of suspicious incidents in Barry and Penarth have arrested a 27-year-old man form the Barry area on suspicion of attempted abduction."
