Police appeal for witnesses after robbery in Swansea

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men robbed a 60-year-old man at knifepoint in Swansea yesterday.

The victim was threatened with a knife and robbed of cash near the bridge connecting New Cut Road and Prince of Wales Road.

After the man handed over money, the suspects were seen to flee across the bridge in the direction of New Cut Road.

Officer’s believe that the knife used during the incident had a wooden handle, and with a blade of about two or three inches in length.

The first male suspect has been described as white, slim build, 5'6 - 5'7 in height, approximately  20-years-old with a local accent and wearing a cream coloured cap and bomber jacket, with a black and white striped scarf which had been pulled up to cover the bottom of his face.

The second suspect is described as white, stocky build, 5'5 - 5'6 in height, approximately 20-years-old and wearing a dark coloured jacket and hat.

Detective Inspector Darren George of Swansea Central CID said: "This was a very frightening experience for the victim who fortunately was not injured.

“We believe that following the robbery, the victim, whilst running away in the direction of Prince of Wales Road, may have spoken to two unknown females.

“I am appealing in particular to any females who were in the vicinity at the time and recall this incident and also to anyone who has any relevant information to come forward.”
