Police are appealing for help in finding a man who has absconded while on a supervised visit from prison.

Officers are advising the public not to approach Richard Maddern-Hazel, but to contact police.

Maddern-Hazel made-off from Wood Street, Cardiff, just before 4pm yesterday.

He has links to Cardiff, Porthcawl and Bridgend.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: "Police advise the public not to approach Hazel but to call police on 999 if he is sighted."
