Police are appealing for information to a road incident in Barry which has left a six-year-old girl in hospital.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said she was airlifted to the University of Wales Hospital following the collision, which happened on Winston Road at around 4.55pm yesterday.

It is believed that the car was silver or grey and was passing a black coloured vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

Detectives say the driver may not be aware that the child had been knocked over.
