Plate gift marks Jim's 100 years
AN honorary Jack has received a commemorative plate on his 100th birthday from Lord Mayor of Swansea, June Stanton.
Jim Hudson was born and grew up in Yorkshire, where he worked at Paul's Tannery, Leeds.
Producing leather for boots was so important that he was required to continue at the tannery when the Second World War broke out, but Mr Hudson wanted to do more, and was posted to Italy with the RAF in 1943. Later, he ran a newsagent with his late wife, Mary, before moving to Wales.
Mr Hudson has many friends at Brunswick Methodist Church, St Helen's Road, while his son, Swansea University graduate Malcolm Hudson, lives in Gowerton.
