Plant cash from Ford
AUTOMOTIVE giant Ford has announced additional investment for its Bridgend plant.
The cash injection will support ongoing high volumes of petrol engine manufacture but comes as Ford is also planning to close its assembly plant in Southampton and stamping and tooling operations in Dagenham next year.
Welsh Government Business Minister Edwina Hart said: "On a day of mixed fortune for Ford in the UK, the news that Ford Bridgend is set to benefit from new investment is to be warmly welcomed.
"The Welsh Government will continue to work closely with the Bridgend plant to support its future."
