PLANS to change the Mexico Fountain pub in Hafod into flats have been submitted to Swansea Council.

Documents submitted as part of the application said the pub has operating for more than 40 years and, in recent years, trying to attract Liberty Stadium football and rugby fans.

But the Neath Road venue closed a short time ago, and it was felt it was no longer economic to run it as a pub.

The plan is to covert the building into eight flats, with two-storey and single-storey rear extensions, plus new external staircases.
