Plaid AM criticises Government over row
A PLAID AM has accused the Government of wasting £350,000 in a row over bilingual voting forms for the upcoming police commissioner elections.
The draft Police and Crime Commissioner Elections (Welsh Forms) Order 2012 is set to be debated at Westminster today.
The order needs to come in effect on or before this Wednesday so voters in Wales can chose to vote in Welsh if they wish to do so in the election, which will be held on November 15.
The Electoral Commission has urged Parliament to ensure that the order is made in time, and Plaid's Simon Thomas, AM for Mid and West Wales, has claimed it has cost taxpayers thousands of pounds.

"The government in London are making extreme cuts to public funding," he said.
"At the same time, lack of consideration for necessary provision in the Welsh language means having to go through an extra procedure in order to ensure Welsh ballot papers, which has meant wasting £350,000."

“Is it because there is no X in the Welsh alphabet?
It seems odd to me that, according to some sources, they have printed 2 sets of ballot papers and one set will be shredded.”
