Plaid chairwoman Helen Mary Jones to step down
THE chairwoman of Plaid Cymru has announced she is to step down.
Former Llanelli AM Helen Mary Jones said she would not seek re-nomination for the post at the party's conference in Aberystwyth in October.
In an email to Plaid members she said she was proud to have been chairwoman through a "very exciting" two years.
She added: "I have decided not to stand for re-election when my term of office comes to an end at conference as I need to concentrate on my career and my family for a while."
Ms Jones represented Llanelli from 1999 to 2011, when she lost the seat to Labour's Keith Davies by just 80 votes.
