Plaid Cymru's Leanne Wood delivers speech on first anniversary as leader
PLAID Cymru's Leanne Wood was set to lay out her five key areas of economic policy to mark her first anniversary as leader today.
Plaid Cymru's economic commission, established by Ms Wood in the early days of her leadership, has identified five key areas for strategic interventions in the Welsh economy.
These are: improving public transport and the National Assembly taking over rail; improving public procurement; a national energy agency for Wales; a Welsh financial system including a publicly-owned Bank of Wales; and devolution of the benefits system and redressing the imbalance of UK public procurement budgets.
Ms Wood will say: "When I was elected as leader of my party I made it clear that I wanted to be judged on one issue and one issue only – the economy.
