IN the July edition of the council newsletter Swansea Leader, a story headed Investing in our children, includes a photograph entitled: "Pupils in the Foundation Phase at Llanmorlais Primary School on Gower are already feeling the benefit of a new extension which demonstrates how the Qed 2020 aims to transform the learning environment in our community."

The benefactor of the Qed 2020 programme is Llanrhidian Primary School, not Llanmorlais Primary School.

Very sadly for the 150-year-old school in Llanmorlais, the axe has dropped and the school closes this summer. The photograph heading is a public insult. Swansea Leader's spokesman claimed it is just a typographical error — and have already corrected their online edition!

Parents, teachers, pupils and members of the community are calling for a public apology for yet another one of Councillor Chris Holley, Councillor Mike Day and Director of Education Richard Parry's goofs.
