Phone mast plan knocked back for third time
A MOBILE phone company's plan to position a mast near Swansea homes has been dashed for the third time.
In February, Swansea councillors rejected a proposal from Vodafone to install a 12m monopole with three antennas on land adjacent to the Lidl store in Trallwn Road, Llansamlet. Council planners had rejected similar proposals in 2003.
Vodafone appealed to the Assembly, which has now backed the council decision.
Ward councillor June Evans said this was the third occasion she had written to Assembly inspectors on the same issue.
She said: "I am pleased we have won again. I am hoping it will be the last time. It is mainly a residential area. People don't like them and don't want them near their homes. There's a play area behind Lidl — a park and field where they play football. I do hope they get the message now."

I do not use a Mobile Phone! As this is a 'communication device' and is linked to the problems of Phone masts, so I'm afraid you can't call me a hypocrite!
If I was to campaign about the use some of the items you mention, I would have little time for anything else! .
If a Mobile phome Mast was to be sited near your home, I am sure either you or your neighbours would complain!
As you are a Builder, are you quite happy to install Asbestos!?”

“James if you research everything thats bad for your health you'll relise that mobile phone masts are the least of your concerns
are you out there campaigning agains red meat, combustion engines, the national grid, communication devices and coaxial cables?
of course your not, you only campaign against the obvious, just out of curiosity do you use a mobile phone?”

As you appear to ignore facts, I had to repeat myself and I did give you further information! It is well known that there is Microwave activity in the Environment including from Computers. But a Computer can be shut down by the User when not in use to minimise adverse affects (and it is recommended to take breaks from them in anycase). However, as individuals, we cannot shut down a Mobile Mast, unless we become modern day 'Tolpuddle Martyrs! Therefore, your arguements for Mobile Masts has little creedence and lacks sufficient evidentual support!”

“James your just repeating yourself and not addressing my points
i know a microwave oven is sheilded but wireless routers and cordless phones arent and they operate on the same frequency
people like you will happily ignore the damage done to your health by household appliances but kick up a fuss over health when something "ugly" is going to be put in your area
if you really care about your health you'll stop using all wireless communication devices”

“Re: Bill the builder, swansea
I have done the Secondary Research on the effects of Microwaves and Magnetic Fields from Mobile Phone Masts usage etc! Mobile Phone Masts have to be close together to get the best reception and the Mobile Phone Masts Emissions from the various organisations that erect them are then multiplied by several factors!
As you have probably noticed, there is a door and a screen on a Microwave oven which stops you being 'fried' when you use it! Humans have Magnetic Fields, so imbalances within the Wavelengths could (and does) have effects on those in the population who are more susceptable to these effects. The Research is out there, Bill! Or are your denials that such problems exist, based on you and Brother 'Bob's' reliance on helping to 'build' these Masts in the first place due to the Recession in the Housebuilding sector!?
My research on the effects of Mobile Phone Masts, was given to Swansea Council in the summer of 2007. For the record, in January 2007, Swansea Council Members decided that Mobile Phone companies should consult with the Communities over the erection of Mobile Phone Masts. Vodaphone didn't do this over the Dyfed Avenue/Ceirog Road Mast!”
