Petrol prices set to take a cut
PETROL pump prices are set to fall after drivers experienced a summer surge, figures show.
Since June an average of 3p a litre has been added on at the pumps taking prices up to a peak of 137.61p last week.
According to the latest AA Fuel Price Report prices fell slightly last weekend, with wholesale prices falling by 1p to 2p over the past three weeks.
Despite this petrol still averages 1.74p a litre more than in July currently standing at 137.52p. It is also 3p more expensive than June's price of 134.6p.
Diesel prices have also seen an increase jumping from 140.24p a litre in mid July to 141.87 now.
This takes diesel costs up to almost 1.5p more than the same period 12 months ago.
