AMMANFORD A and Penlan D fought out a close match in the premier division of the Swansea & District Table Tennis League.

And it was Ammanford who eventually edged to a 21-17 victory.

The match was decided when Cath Jones won the last game 3-1, giving her match figures of 9-2.

Leaders Penlan A saw off second-placed Mumbles A with a 21-15 win, despite Andrew Jones winning 9-0 for the losers, which took him back to the top of the division's averages.

Cam Gears B recorded their first victory of the season with a 24-13 victory over a depleted Penyrheol A, Morgan Sidley winning 9-2.

Penlan comfortably beat Carmarthen C 27-11, with Marc Castro recording an impressive 9-3 victory.

Carmarthen A beat Penlan C 22-16 thanks to Jason Peckham winning 9-0.

Penlan F moved to the top of division one after a 30-7 victory over Cam Gears C, while Penlan E beat Penlan G 24-13 with Ben Mora winning 8-3.

Division two leaders Tata Port Talbot C beat Dillwyn Llewelyn A 28-10. Lee Williams won 9-1 and Jeff Wood 9-3. Second-placed Penlan K beat Penyrheol B 24-11, John Davies winning 9-0 and Damien Yeo 9-2.

Penlan L enjoyed a 30-7 victory over Dillwyn Llewelyn B.

Penlan J suffered their first defeat of the season when beaten 18-17 by Tata Port Talbot D. The match was decided when Bill Haddon and James Prescott won the doubles 3-0 to secure victory for Tata.

Division three leaders Penlan N have opened up an enormous lead after three comfortable victories.

They recorded a 28-8 success over Penyrheol C, with Shankley Ismail and Bradley Abraham both winning 9-1. They followed it up by beating Penyrheol D 28-8, with Bradley Abraham and Shankley Ismail both winning 9-1.

Penlan ended with a 30-5 defeat of Manselton Community Centre B. Penlan S beat Penlan R 25-7 with Mark Hursey and Ya Xie winning 9-0.
