Partner admits assault charge
A MAN who assaulted his partner of three years has appeared in court.
David Burgess, aged 36, of Heol Maes-y-Gelynen, had argued with his partner Claire Spicer when an argument broke out.
He pleaded guilty to assault on a basis where he accepted grabbing her arms which caused her to fall and hurt herself.
Police were called and reported seeing reddening and bruising to the right side of her neck.
Chris White, for Burgess, said the offence was at a low level and accepted she was not to blame.
He said: "This young man has, over the last five years, turned his life around. He's gone from a situation where he's been before the courts on a regular basis to one where it's irregular."
He was given a community order and told to pay a total of £780 in costs, compensation and surcharge.
