Parent's concerns addressed
EDUCATION chiefs at Swansea Council insisted they are addressing issues raised by a concerned parent at a city school.
The parent, who asked the Post not to name him, has submitted complaints to the authority relating to YGG Llynderw, West Cross.
The man claimed there had been a failure to provide the names and terms of office for the school governing body within the 2012 annual report to parents, a failure to include targets within the school's 2012 annual report to parents, and no governing body meetings between January and October 2012.
The school is understood to be due an inspection by Estyn in the coming weeks.
A council spokesman said issues had been flagged up by Estyn in the recent past, and added: "The council is working closely with governors and teachers to address the issues and progress is being made. A new head teacher was appointed in September and work will continue to address matters raised."
