TWO friends from Carmarthen have completed a tandem skydive in aid of the special care baby unit at the town's Glangwili hospital.

Majella Powell, whose two babies received care at the unit, did the skydive with her friend Ian Axon and raised more than £1,000.

Help and sponsorship came from QE High School, Carmarthen Youth Opera and local businesses, together with friends and family.

The skydive took place at Swansea airfield. In total the baby unit was given £10,018 from the skydive.
