TWO friends fly out to Africa this weekend on a money- making mission for three charities.

Joy Grey and Sian Evans used to work together at M&P motorcycles in Gorseinon, and remained friends when Joy left to work in Debenhams. The pair then hatched a plan together to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, with Joy hoping to help raise cash for the Alzheimer's Society, and Sian for the RSPCA and Cancer Research.

Mum-of-three Joy, from Sketty, said: "My father-in-law suffered from Alzheimer's, which is why I decided to help that charity. We've been in training, in the gym and going up Pen y Fan.

"My family are pretty supportive, but they are a little nervous on my behalf, as it is quite a challenge. My husband says he has to stay at home though to look after the cat!"
