Owners fined £75 over pets' fouling
TWO women have been fined £75 for not cleaning up after their dogs in the Amman Valley.
Council environmental enforcement officers issued a fixed penalty notice to a woman following an offence behind Cwmamman Education Centre in Glanamman.
A woman was also fined for an offence in Llandybie.
Failure to pay the fines could result in prosecution in the magistrates court and a fine of up to £1,000.
Executive board member for environmental and public protection Jim Jones said: "Our enforcement officers carry out patrols across the county, seven days a week. Anyone caught not cleaning up after their dogs will be fined. Not only is dog mess a nuisance if you step in it but it can cause serious health problems. The council is determined to clean up Carmarthenshire."
