OSPREYS fly-half Sam Davies will start for Wales Under-20s when they take on their Irish counterparts at Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay, on Friday.

Davies has been selected ahead of Rhys Patchell, who is likely to play for the Cardiff Blues against London Irish in the LV= Cup.

Davies is one of five Ospreys in the Welsh side, while his half-back partner Rhodri Williams is among the six Scarlets named in the starting line-up.

"This is the starting point of our journey towards the Junior World Championship, but we are very keen to start well on Friday," said head coach Danny Wilson.
