Online hygiene form call
PEOPLE should be able to read food hygiene reports online, the Welsh Liberal Democrats have said.
As it currently stands, you can view food hygiene ratings on the Food Standard Agency's (FSA) website but not the accompanying report.
The inspections are carried out by councils, with overall ratings given from 0, meaning urgent improvement necessary, to 5, meaning very good.
Welsh Lib Dem leader yesterday used her amendments to the Food Hygiene Ratings (Wales) Bill to ensure the public have as much information as possible when making choices about eating out.

The party wants the FSA to include a short report alongside the rating, and to make the full inspection report available on the website of whichever council did the inspection.

“Great idea! I'd much rather make a judgement based on actual facts rather than just a number. I remember visiting the National Assembly for Wales before and did notice their canteen only scored a 4 - so I would love to see what was wrong with the very building that was meant to be setting an example for us all.”
