Olympic star Ellie Simmonds in line for major award
ELLIE Simmonds is in line to be crowned William Hill Sportswoman of the Year.
The Swansea swimmer, one of the stars of the 2012 Paralympics in London, is in a short-list of ten for the award.

Simmonds will be one of the favourites for the award — now in its second year — after her two gold medals and world record-breaking performances in London captured the heart of the nation.
But she faces tough competition from a host of other women who have made headlines throughout the year.

Favourite
Among them is double Paralympic gold medallist Hannah Cockroft and gymnast Beth Tweddle, who took a bronze in London.
Jess Ennis will be another favourite after winning gold in the heptathlon, with last year's winner, jockey Hayley Turner, again on the short-list.
The other five names on the list are cyclists Victoria Pendleton and Laura Trott, footballer Steph Houghton, Paralympic star Sarah Story and tennis player Laura Robson.
The winner will be announced on Tuesday, December 4.
