DEFENDING Pembrokeshire champions Neyland added the Welsh Indoor Cricket title to their achievements, brushing aside the challenge of Gowerton and Pentyrch without moving into top gear.

In the finals at Cardiff, Gowerton were held to 62-5, a total which Neyland passed without losing a wicket, with skipper Gregg Miller 26 not out and Paul Murray 25 not out.

It was a similar story against Pentyrch, with the Cardiff side bowled out for 68. Neyland did lose one wicket but reached 70-1 without any further problems, as Murray and Andrew Miller both scored 26 not out.

Neyland are due to meet a team from Herefordshire in the zone final at Milford Haven on Sunday, February 19.

The Nick Evans (The Cricket Shop, Narberth) Indoor Cricket League resumes on Sunday when Narberth play for the first time this season.
