A NEW restaurant in Llanelli's £60 million leisure quarter has been officially opened.

Hungry Horse opened its doors for the first time at East Gate in the town, with the ribbon cut by Councillor Jim Jones, executive board member for public protection at Carmarthenshire Council.

Mr Jones said: "It's lovely to have a facility in Llanelli such as the Hungry Horse, I look forward to the success it shall bring over the coming years"."

Michael Thomas, who gained a job at the 220-seater restaurant through Job Force Wales, said: "I am so happy to have been given this opportunity."
