New map goes green
SWANSEA Community Farm and the Gower-based Down to Earth project are among the locations on a new map of Wales.
The map highlights more than 40 gardening, farming and other green initiatives around the country, and has been put together by the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens.
The maps are being issued to voluntary groups, councils, schools, libraries and tourist information centres.
Katie Jones, from the federation, said: "This map is the first of its kind in Wales and marks a major milestone for community farming and gardening here.
"It highlights the phenomenal amount of interest there is in these communityled activities in Wales."
The launch of the map was welcomed by Plaid AM Leanne Wood.
She said: "Interest in growing fruit and vegetables is higher than it has been for a long time and this wonderful facility will be able to put like-minded people, groups and associations in touch with each other and help meet the high demand that is out there."
