New Osprey Davies admits he faces a massive season
BARRY Davies has returned to Welsh rugby declaring: ''I've got a massive season ahead of me.''
The Ospreys' back-three signing from Brive confessed to having first-day nerves when he reported for training earlier this week and introduced himself to his new team-mates.

After two years in France, he faces the challenge of having to prove himself in Welsh rugby again, with Lee Byrne and Gareth Owen as rivals for the full-back shirt at the Liberty Stadium.
''I've got a massive season ahead of me, make no mistake about it,'' he said. ''We have two quality full-backs here already in Lee and Gareth, so there's real competition for places.
''It's going to be a challenge to claim a regular place, but it's a challenge that excites me.
''I had a great time in France and I think it benefited me personally and professionally. I'm definitely a better player for the experience of playing and living there.''

“The ospreys have the best two full backs in wales, a sure sign the one true region mean business this year.
While the scarlets sign dross like fenby and welch, we bring in barry and collins
thats the difference, ospreys for league and cup glory next year”

“I think Barry Davies is a great signing for the Ospreys, I'm amazed he hasn't been in the Welsh squad more often. He's a far better player than Morgan Stoddart. I hope over the next 3 years he gets enough game time to push for a Welsh squad place, though I don't expect him to oust Byrne he's a great replacement.”
