Network premiere for history
HUW Edwards's The Story of Wales is to have a UK audience.
The Llanelli broadcaster's series enjoyed a successful run on BBC Wales earlier this year.
Now it is going to be networked, with a slot on BBC Two next month.
The series tells the story of Wales from pre-history to modern times.

One of BBC Cymru Wales's most ambitious series ever, The Story of Wales traces the history of the Welsh nation from 30,000 years ago to the present day.
Huw Edwards said: "I am aware that working on this series — a once- in-a-generation event — is a real privilege. Above all, The Story of Wales needs to engage audiences in Wales and beyond. After all, we have a great story to tell."

“Rather a shame that a fine looking series is spoilt by some pretty major mistakes. I'd note in particular the omission of the country's greatest king!
Gruffudd ap Llywelyn (d. 1063) was the only man to rule all of Wales and his reign was key in the transformation from kingdom to principality. The series, though, jumps straight from the reign of Hywel Dda (d. 949/50) to 1066!”
