Wales lock Bradley Davies and Ireland flanker Stephen Ferris have both been cited for foul play during the RBS 6 Nations match between the countries on Sunday.

They will appear before an independent Six Nations disciplinary committee in London tomorrow.

Davies was yellow-carded for a tip-tackle on Donnacha Ryan during Wales' opening 6 Nations clash, while Ferris received an identical punishment for his tackle on Ian Evans.

Ferris infringed in the last minute of the game, and Wales full-back Leigh Halfpenny kicked the resulting penalty to give Wales a 23-21 victory.

Wales continue their Six Nations campaign against Scotland in Cardiff next Sunday, while Ireland meet France in Paris the previous evening.

“We cannot argue that it was not a tip tackle, but couldn't the Irish Hooker who was next to the action have aided his team mate and made his landing less dangerous?”

“I don`t think we can argue with what we have seen. It`s tough on Bradly and off the ball. The rules are changing all the time but people must not lose sight that Rugby is and always will be a physical contact sport and the risk of a serious injury is always there.”
