Narberth win shows they can be contenders
THE first round of the Tony Nakonecznyj West Wales Cup got under way with St Clears having the easiest passage through after their game against Hendy was postponed.
But Narberth showed just how good they are this season by beating West Dragons 3-1 at home.
The Bluebirds had no problems disposing of last year's Senior Cup finalists as Dorian Davies, Ade Jones and Morgan Preece all found the back of the net to allow a swift way into round two.
Pendine had a day to forget at Team Swansea as they went down 10-1 to record their heaviest and most miserable result of the season.
Craig Hurst may have slotted one home for the Gulls yet it was scant consolation after suffering at the hands of the ruthless home side.
In league action, Narberth Seconds travelled to Broad Haven and had few troubles in winning comfortably after notching up a comprehensive 5-1 win.
Dafydd Wright scored twice for the visitors with the other goals coming from Josh Layzell, Callum O'Connell and Dylan Davies.
St Clears Seconds were at West Dragons Seconds and won a close encounter 3-2, while Kilgetty Seconds won their third game of the season following a 3-1 victory over Herbrandston.
Dean Morgan scored the first for the Kingsmoor outfit before Adam Frearson followed, with an own goal by the visitors completing the day's play.
Narberth Thirds' game at home to Pembroke Boro was postponed after the visitors failed to raise a side.
