WHAT IS A NEET?
WHAT is the definition of "economically inactive"?
Economically inactive people do not work and do not meet the internationally-agreed definition of unemployment.
They are people without a job who have not actively sought work in the past four weeks and/or are not available to start work in the next two weeks.
In addition to this chunk of the population, which the report (see main article) does not put a figure on, there are some 10,300 people classed as unemployed in Swansea — or 9.5 per cent of the working-age population.
