Music, food and film to mark saint's day
A WHOLE host of events are being held in Swansea to celebrate St David's Day.
There will be a week-long celebration, which will commemorate Wales's patron saint and celebrates the city's rich Welsh heritage of music, food, dance, poetry and culture.
The Brangwyn Hall will be playing a leading role in the programme.
Welsh tenor Wynne Evans will be headlining the festival with the Morriston Orpheus Choir on February 25.
Wynne is well-known for his singing and starring in a TV advertising campaign which has made him a household name as spoof opera star Gio Compario.
The venue will play host to St David's Ballroom Dance, which will feature two hours of live music, from groups including Phil Dando Big Band and dancing.
Free screenings of two Welsh films Fortissimo Jones and Martha Jac a Sianco, on February 28 and March 1, at the Swansea hall. More than 200 children will sing their hearts out at the Saint, Songs and Celebration on February 29 in a very special St David's celebration concert.

“I read on the city of Swansea page re all the events for that week.
Headline fly the flag this week ???
WHY only this week??/ We should be flying the WELSH flag 24/7. also the St Davids flag should be als flown.
If the council are taking the trouble to put up the flags for the 1st March...leave them there.....easy answer
we are WELSH and should see the flag everywhere.
Take those blue /star rubbish that are in our faces DOWN.”
