Mums shoot to Swans fame filming tribute
THREE Swans-mad Bonymaen mums have had a run-out with their favourite football heroes at the Liberty Stadium.
The avid supporters ran, danced, sang and waved with Leon Britton, Jordi Gomez, Angel Rangel and Dorus de Vries as they shot a music video to promote their new tribute song to the Swans.
-
Judith Thomas, Swans manager Roberto Martinez, Hayley Mogridge and Sally Cullen.
The club has already promised that the song will feature at a forthcoming game.
Sally Cullen, Hayley Mogridge and Judith Thomas released their song Who Are We? to celebrate the club's first season in the Championship.
Jordi said: "It's the best song in the world. I hope the fans will sing it."
Angel said: "It means the fans are supporting us and it is very important to play and win games."
Watch the mums' video below
The CD, or DVD, could be released to raise money for Ward 11 at Singleton Hospital.
Hayley said: "We had a brilliant time at the stadium with the players and Roberto.
"It would be a dream if the Swans fans got behind the song and started singing it in matches."
Anyone interested in sponsoring the mums should call 01792 464751.

“Working Mum. The money for the Music@Bonymaen project didn't come from Europe. It didn't come from the Government. It hasn't been paid for by anyone's taxes. It came from The Junction. They're the people that own Morfa Retail Park.
Regarding money being 'wasted' on community projects, I know of many projects that have been brilliant examples of bringing people together, teaching skills and opening doors of opportunity. Projects that have given people confidence where they once had none. Yes, we could give all the money in the world to cancer charities. But then what about Aids charities. Or domestic abuse charities. Or the Red Cross. Or Amnesty. I understand and totally sympathize with your reasons for being passionate about cancer research, I myself have a family member who has had cancer. However, this doesn't mean there isn't a place in the world for projects like the one in Bonymaen.
Why not give all the money you spend on non essential items to charity? You don't need a TV and that £300 could have fed hungry children in Africa. Let us never again have beautiful and iconic buildings or structures like the Eiffel Tower, because the money could have gone to charity. I hope you see the point Im trying to make.
Thanks”

“Cancer strikes every family. I nursed my mother at home through terminal cancer and repeated the exercise again a few years later for my father-in-law.
I suggested that the Communities First money would be better spent on funding cancer research as I am fully aware of the impact when a family member is diagnosed with terminal cancer. There is nothing like being told " we can only offer pallative care". More research will lead to more treatments and hopefully cures or an extension providing good quality life.
While the record cost "you" nothing to record and produce there is a cost to it. Who do you think paid for it? Where do you think the funding for the project comes from. It's not free. Any money that comes from the government or europe is coming from tax revenues. That is the only place these bodies get their money from so every tax payer is entitled to an opinion on how it is spent.”

“perhaps the ones who leave negative comments are cheesed off with girls for doing something good? if the swans players didnt mind them doing it then why on earth have you lot got such bad opinions about them? never mind telling the girls to get a job which how you know they dont is beyond me. get a life and leave these girls do something good!”

“after all costs have been taken out ward 11 will have very little money given to them , and all we will be left with is yet another hooligan song to sing on the already troubled terraces of the liberty... if you want to do good girls get yourself a job as a carer much more rewarding !!!”

“I'm with 'working mum' on this one.
The only people supporting these women and their 'song\video' are their friends and family.
By all means give to a good cause, but there's no need to make a song and dance about it... the rest of us give to charity and to good causes without needing to see our names in the paper!
Let's hope the Swans fans stick to their usual sing-a-longs. The last thing we need in Swansea is more wannabe celebrities.”

“swanseaboy wouldn't you rather the hundreds of thousands pounds of community first money, which is money that comes from Europe and Europe gets the money from British (and other member states) taxes, spent on cancer research, prevention and cure. How many times do we see stories in the paper of cancer patients having to sell their homes (if they have one to sell) to buy cancer drugs to save their lives. The Health Authority cannot afford the drugs but millions of pounds is wasted on community schemes.
Also yes as a mother I do have cash, do you know why? Because we are a longstanding two parent family where both of us work to provide for our family. We live according to our means and if we want more we have to work extra/overtime for it.
Would the EP care to tell it's readers how many million pounds of taxpayers money, even if it comes via Europe it's still tax payers money, is being spent in communities on such schemes. Can they also compare this to how many life saving cancer drugs this would fund?”
