TWO people had to be rescued from Middle Island, in Mumbles, after the tide left them stranded yesterday.

Mumbles lifeboat was launched at 3.30pm. The pair, thought to be visitors to the area, were handed over to Mumbles Coastguard.

    “I remember many years ago being cut off by the tide whilst on a small island. We had to wait a couple of hours of the tide to go out again. It was cold and boring but we never did it again.”
